Four-Year Reference Plan
Program Duration: 4 years. This sample degree plan is a planning reference and may be adapted with academic advising.
Year 1: Foundations
College writing, quantitative reasoning, introductory criminal justice, psychology, and communication.
Year 2: Learning and Systems
Criminal law foundations, learning theory, statistics, instructional communication, and ethics.
Year 3: Design and Inquiry
Curriculum planning, assessment, justice administration, research methods, and elective study.
Year 4: Integration
Advanced seminar, capstone project, community education experience, and advisor-approved electives.
Optional Pre-Health Reference Core
Students considering pre-health pathways may adapt a Texas medical-school prerequisite reference core, such as biology, general and organic chemistry, physics, biochemistry, mathematics or statistics, and writing. This is optional and is not required for the Criminal Justice Education major.
