About the Course
This four-week workshop is designed to explore the role of lawyers and prosecutors in the pursuit of justice. Through case studies, lectures, and interactive activities, students will gain an understanding of the legal profession and the importance of the legal system in protecting civil rights, liberties, and public safety.
The workshop will explore the roles of prosecutors and defense attorneys in the criminal justice system and the ethical considerations that are involved. Students will learn how the adversarial system works, and how the decisions of prosecutors and defense attorneys affect the outcome of criminal cases.
The workshop will also discuss the way prosecutors and defense attorneys use trial procedures and evidence to win or lose a case. Students will explore the use of expert witnesses, elements of a crime, and the impact of plea agreements.
In addition, students will learn how prosecutors and defense attorneys work together to pursue justice, and how they interact with the court system and other stakeholders. They will gain an understanding of the role of the criminal justice system in promoting social justice and protecting the rights of all citizens.
Finally, the workshop will discuss the importance of public service and the need for a robust and ethical legal profession. Students will gain an appreciation for the important role lawyers and prosecutors play in the justice system, and the responsibility they have to ensure fairness and equality in the pursuit of justice.
